Sunflower Patch

This sunflower patch, on Hunsinger Farms, has several unique things about it I think. One is that there is an area of sunflowers to take pictures with and the other area is strictly for people to make a donation and cut flowers to take. If you've never cut of sunflower you may be thinking it's a scissors thing but they actually have saws there you can use! And the reality is sunflowers don't hold up well once they're cut so be advised. Like a number of places, they do have some props placed around but I felt theirs were more in keeping with the actual sense of being out in a field. It's not as large as the fields up in Leavenworth county but the surroundings make for some beautiful shots. The location is East of Wells Overlook, so anyone familiar with that knows that it is an area with lovely large tree covered hills. Very scenic! I thoroughly enjoyed my trip there and particularly because on the way there, there were clouds dropping rain and I got a rainbow! Was thinking how great it would be over the sunflower field but in reality the clouds were far to the east of the field when I was there. Maybe earlier. In any case I was very happy and not at all disappointed! Definitely woul

Now we have two sunflower patches to visit. Grinters has been around for many years, and now there's another south of Lawrence. Close enough that we ride our bikes to see it. Very nice and picturesque but not the event that's Grinter.

Nice secluded place that is close to Lawrence to stop for some pictures. I went on a wet Saturday morning and was the only one there. The cloud cover made it very easy to get good pictures.

I would like to see the sunflower in Kansas because I love Kansas. Sorry I came later end of the sunflower season, but I am very happy to see Sunflower!
